  My highlights on Malta Well, it all started off with a fabulous weekend before the course started on Monday. We decided to fly to Malta earlier to get familiar with the island, its culture, people, sights and landscape to settle in and adapt to the heatwave reaching 43°Celsius. The isle of Gozo, located next to Malta was worth a visit. The Cittadella in Victoria exceeded my expectations. It felt like being in the middle of an Arabic country. The heat even reinforced the feeling of being in a southern country. We got to hear the Maltese language for the first time by participating in a Sunday service at the Cittadella’s Cathedral (of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary). After that we needed some cooling down and refreshed ourselves by jumping into the crystal-blue water at Xlendi Beach, south of Victoria.
